CROFTON STREET

The process of updating and renovating a heritage home requires a great amount of balance to ensure the end result pays homage to the original whilst showcasing the new. It was love at first sight. From the moment we visited this home we were excited by its potential and couldn’t wait to inject new life into this stunning 1950’s Midcentury Modern red brick home.

The new kitchen and living extension oozed natural northern light allowing us to inject a deep blue into the kitchen joinery. This really set the tone for the overall look and feel. Using additional pops of colour and interest within the pantry , laundry and bathroom tiles certainly allowed the client’s personality to shine. There was nothing boring about the selections. Sourcing colourful bespoke tiles was key to keeping this house unique. Implementing the original bricks and recycled timber into the new modern extension allowed for a beautiful connection between the old and new.

Overall this renovation was a delight to be part of and here’s what the clients have to say about their home…

“In renovating our forever home we wanted to seamlessly marry the old with the new while still being brave with our choices. Kara gave us the confidence to make these choices around tiles and tap ware that we just love and they are now some of the best features of our renovation. We love what we’ve created and wouldn’t change a thing”.
